Exquisite natural green turquoise with a variety of tones and wonderful coppery inclusions. This particular cut is called 'kernel' as it replicates days gone by when Corn Kernels were strung and used in ceremonies celebrating the harvest. This turquoise is mined and processed in the United States and you can see some of our Navajo Jewelry made from cuts of it. Because each strand will vary some, we are listing them individually for your convenience. Due to their delicate nature, strands will be boxed for shipment.
This strand is approximately 16 inches and graduates from 9mm to 20mm lengths and top thickness ranges from 2mm to 3mm (lots of beads on these strands). This strand is a bit lighter in weight and not as highly polished giving them a more earthy look; they also exhibit more host stone than the other strands.
Turquoise is the ultimate healing stone, providing solace for the spirit and well-being for the body. It is a protective stone and has been used since ancient times. Native Americans call Turquoise the 'Sky Stone' and believe it is both male and female gender. Blue turquoise being male as in 'Father Sky' and green turquoise being female as in 'Mother Earth'.
